Cuentos digitales

Últimamente estoy trabajando con una web muy útil que me permite crear cuentos infantiles muy vistosos, se trata de www.storyjumper.com. Me gustaría compartir mi experiencia con vosotros y animaros a utilizarlo pues aunque los personajes son un poco infantiles pueden ser utilizados para todas las edades.
El programa es muy fácil de usar y la inscripción es gratuita. La propia web una vez acabado el cuento te permite enviarlo para que la empresa te lo imprima en papel y recibirlo cómodamente en casa; también puedes enviar el cuento vía mail a tus amigos o familiares, y por supuesto visualizarlo en el aula cuando lo desees.
En primer lugar una vez abierto el programa, clicas en "crear", aparecen varias páginas en la parte superior, y en el margen izquierdo todas los apartados para crear el cuento: props (personajes y objetos), fondos y escenas, texto, etc. En el centro de la pantalla se abren dos páginas, clicando sobre una de ellas la activa y puedes ir buscando los elementos que quieras a tu izquierda y arrastrarlos hacia la página. Por supuesto lo más importante es tener una idea previa de lo que quieres comunicar o del objetivo linguístico que quieres que aprendan tus alumnos. En segundo lugar echa un vistazo a los props (personajes y objetos) para saber con lo que cuentas, es cierto que es un poco limitado pero también puedes subir fotos e imágenes desde tu ordenador e insertarlos, yo subí fotos de mi familia e inserté la cara en varios de los personajes que aparecen en el apartado "props". Por cierto trabajé con la versión en inglés pero puedes traducir la página clicando sobre la banderita española en lo alto de la página.
Vas completando página a página, y creando el argumento. Cuando acabas y le das a "exit" te aparece la opción de imprimir el libro en papel y recibirlo por unos 25$ según el número de páginas. Pero también puedes enviarlo por mail, le das a la opción "share" y automáticamente te aparece un cuadro de diálogo donde introducir los mails y el mensaje. El programa cuenta con un tutorial  muy sencillo.

Lo más divertido es pedir a tus alumnos que creen su propio cuento en el aula o en casa, es divertido y fácil, y bastante atractivo.

También existe el programa www.storybird.com en el que hay ilustraciones hechas y tu te tienes que inventar el cuento.

Por otro lado si ya tienes algún cuento en Power Point o en Word puedes utilizar un conversor a cuento digital como por ejemplo www.calameo.com, es un programa muy fácil de usar también, solo tienes que darle a crear, y subir el documento que quieres convertir en libro digital. Es una manera más original de enviar documentos. Podéis ver un ejemplo a continuación de un Power Point convertido en libro digital.

E-learning and Digital Cultures #edcmooc

I have finally managed to deal with this online course, and feel so happy about it, I know how to post my comments, see if other people has given opinion and find my posts and see if they have been answered. The second week of the course is over, and I watched the videos we have to analyse. It is been shocking to see how technology can turn us, humans, into robots; how technology manipulates us, how it pushes us to do unthinkable things. I am beginning to appreciate to participate in a course with 39.000 students; I read comments from people all over the world and I realized their answers depend on their backgrounds and country situation, a Japanese does not think the same as an African from Uganda, or a French. Really interesting. By the way, if anyone wants to recuperate his posts and see if they have been commented, he has to write on the box on the right above the page (where it says search) the first line of his his post. Next Friday there is a video conference for us, the 40.000 students participating, although we send the comments through twitter.
I encourage anyone to follow this courses, I think it is an amazing experience, the website name is www.coursera.org. And it is free!!

My experience with EDCMOOC after a week #edcmooc

I have enrolled in this sort of thrilling course E-learning and digital cultures, and after a week, I am not sure if it is being positive for me or not. I spent the first four days dealing with how to put my comments to the different activities and where, now that I know how to do it I cannot go back to my posts, my comments and questions and see if they have been resolved or commented. Is there a way to see my posts? without having to spend one hour browsing pages?
In any case, I find fascinating that a course can have 40.000 students, but how are teachers going to evaluate that, (I know I am not being original with this question). In this second week of the course I will try to follow as good as I can. It is just that I find frustrating not having someone sending me an email with a comment on my posts or participation. I have done other online courses but of course totally different. I have a question: What is the real aim of a course in which 40.000 students are constantly sending twitters with opinions about the different activities? If it is participation what it counts I will understand, but I do need feedback. So far I feel overloaded. I will try to focus. Thank you.
